Defining a bold narrative for Global Electronics Council
As Account Director at HN Communications, I work closely with the Global Electronics Council (GEC) to strengthen their position as the leading organisation accelerating systemic change in the electronics industry.
Since early 2024, I’ve helped shape their long-term communications strategy, create a bold new narrative, design and deliver their high-profile Climate Week NYC 2024 event, and lay the foundations for an even more ambitious platform in 2025.

The assignment
GEC is on a mission to drive systemic change in the global electronics industry, making it more sustainable, transparent, and accountable. As the trusted steward of the internationally recognised EPEAT ecolabel, GEC needed a clear, confident voice to match its influence.
GEC engaged HN Communications to:
shape an integrated communications strategy for 2024 and beyond
develop a bold organisational narrative and strapline
increase visibility among global stakeholders across industry, policy, and investment
design and deliver a flagship event at Climate Week NYC 2024
support stakeholder communications, digital storytelling, and strategic positioning.
The approach
Working directly with the GEC communications team and CEO Bob Mitchell, I led the development of GEC’s long-term communications strategy, stakeholder positioning and narrative.
This has included:
crafting a bold new organisational mission and a confident positioning strategy to reinforce GEC’s role as a driver of systemic change
building a campaign and messaging framework
Leading strategic planning for GEC’s flagship Climate Week NYC 2024 event at The Nest Climate Campus
strategic advising on GEC’s communications, including stakeholder outreach, social content, and storytelling strategy.
The impact

GEC now has a confident, cohesive organisational identity that clearly communicates its mission and impact. Their refreshed narrative and strategy have supported internal alignment and external influence across digital channels and strategic partnerships.
The delivery of a flagship event at Climate Week NYC
GEC’s Climate Week NYC event Accelerating the Transition to 100% Sustainable Technology brought together leading voices from NASA, Microsoft, EY and Samsung, positioning GEC as a central convener of global tech and sustainability leaders. CEO Bob Mitchell’s keynote and curated panel discussions cemented GEC’s climate leadership.
Continued momentum into 2025
HN Communications continues to work with GEC into 2025, supporting the evolution of its narrative and platform. Together, we’re developing an even more ambitious presence for Climate Week NYC 2025, reinforcing GEC’s role as a powerful convenor and driver of systemic change.
